    New Article: “Vanya: A Solo Adaptation Based on Anton Chekhov’s Text”

    A captivating solo performance of “Vanya” will be showcased at the Megaron Music Hall in Athens on Thursday, April 18th at 8:00 PM (with Greek subtitles). The play, recorded live at The Duke of York’s Theatre in London, features Andrew Scott (known for his role in Fleabag) portraying all the characters from Anton Chekhov’s “Uncle Vanya,” leaving the audience and critics mesmerized by his exceptional performance. The adaptation, titled “Vanya: Hopes, Dreams, and Past Mistakes,” is a radical one-man show written by Simon Stephens (renowned for “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”) and directed by Sam Yates. The screening is part of NTLive, a program that brings outstanding productions from the National Theatre of Britain to the Megaron Music Hall, and is offered in collaboration with the British Embassy in Athens and the British Council

    The new adaptation of this Chekhovian drama delves into the complexity of human emotions, exploring the life and struggles of Ivan, also known as Uncle Vanya. Ivan has devoted his life to managing the family estate and business affairs, yet his efforts go unnoticed and unappreciated. Andrew Scott takes on the challenge of portraying all the characters in the play, including Ivan, Elena, Professor Serebryakov, Sonya, Marína, Doctor Astrov, Grandma Marína, Elizabeth, and Liam

    Ticket prices for “Vanya” are set at 8€ for students, individuals under 25, unemployed individuals, people with disabilities, seniors, and large families, while regular tickets are priced at 15€.
